Black Mountain Transmissions is a new series which focuses on long-form atmospheric dubs, recorded in a single key and with a consistent BPM.

Inspired by the intricate patterns found within a microwave circuit board, the project will feature ever evolving tracks that journey through the depths of industrial dub, infused with pulsating basslines, shimmering melodies and uplifting tonal moments.

The first instalment in the series is the nearly hour-long SCP 682, whose twisted breakbeats and squelching synths dissolve into spacious subs and otherworldly sounds. Originally conceived for a live set at the Red Bar in Auckland, SCP 682 took on other dimensions in the studio, absorbing experimental elements as the dub process evolved.

Black Mountain Transmissions looks set to perfectly compliment my Translations remix series, allowing me to further explore the sonic universe free of constraints.

SCP 682 was originally conceived for a live set at the Red Bar in Auckland, NZ on February 2nd 2024. The bones of the live show were then further manipulated in the studio.
